For those who wonder, S-M-M stands for "Spontaineous Mountainous Mayhem". Set in the mountains, this fun and sometimes chaotic track is a pleasure to drive with beautiful scenery. Jumps, water crossings and divings, banked turns, and the odd blind turn create some kinda beauty only in the eye of the beholder- er downloader :-)

---------------

S-M-M is based on a MTM1 track I made a long time ago, called A Really Crazy 8. The layout up to checkpoint 6 is exactly the same as the old version, although the altitude has change a lot.

I've included a replay file in the zip. Drop it into your MTM\Saved Replays folder and check it out. Its my second best lap time to this date (7/28/99). Learn from da master :-)

Track name: S-M-M (Spontaineous Mountainous Mayhem)

Author: LiteningZ@P

-----------------

Time taken to make: Well, I started it in January 1999, and decided to enter it in MTMG contest in early July (I'd have an excuse to spend more time on it :-)

Lap times: 2:30 - 3:00 minutes depending on you drive. My best is around 2:31.

-----------------

Known bugs-

-AI isn't too competitive.

My excuse: The faster I made them, the more they tended to skid out on turns, or over-jump jumps. They will finish the race in pro mode though. I've seen them get 2:49 before. In rookie, they may not make some jumps.

-Track is too dark.

My excuse: I believe it or not, the lighting is the same as it is in "The Heights". But after the first time I raced the track, I thought it was dark. There are some ways around this though.
If you can adjust it, raise the gamma settings in your 3D-video card options. You could make your monitor brighter as well. The easiest way though, is to just race at dusk mode. It is actually brighter, and is a lot more fun. When I look at the track now, I'd say it's meant for an evening drive.

-Some trees look screwy (I.E.- ones at checkpoints)

My Excuse: I believe this is a problem with the MTM2 engine. If you have a transparent bin model (trees) the transparent part doesn't seem to want to show any other models behind it for a short distance. You will notice this mainly at checkpoint posts.

I haven't noticed any other buggers. However if you find any, please send your findings (and a $50.00 donation) to the e-mail address at the bottom of your screen :-)
